He was a former welder.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Priscilla Poindexter.
Phillip is survived by his daughter, Jessica Poindexter of Evansville, IN; sisters, Rebecca Poindexter of Floyds Knobs, Melissa Thompson (Gary) of Sellersburg, IN, Robin Bottorff (Dale) of Charlestown, IN and Kimberly Carroll of Floyds Knobs; brothers, Leon Poindexter (Linda) of Underwood, IN, Anthony Poindexter (Sharon) of Marengo, IN and Michael Poindexter (Leah Ann) of Otisco, IN; grandchildren, Brandon, Christina, Kristopher, Kelsey, Joshua, Justin and Taya; great grandchildren, Alec and Ares.
Cremation was chosen and a graveside service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Grayson Funeral Home.
