Mildred C. JOHNSON, 90, formerly of Leiters Ford, died at 10:45 p.m. Saturday at the Villa Maria Convalescent Hospital, Santa Maria Calif. She had been in failing health the past five years.

She was born March 26, 1897 in Waukegan, Ill., to William and Cora CROSBY LAMSON. She had lived in the Leiters Ford area from 1941 until moving to California in 1980. She was married Oct. 12, 1941 in Waukegan to Harry L. JOHNSON, who died Nov. 28, 1967. A Gray Lady at Woodlawn Hospital for 26 years, she was active in Red Cross work and was a member of the Leiters Ford United Methodist Church, the Maxinkuckee Rebekah Lodge, the Eastern Star and the Leiters Ford Senior Citizens.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Virginia KINKADE of Sisters, Ore.; a son, Willard BOWERS, Sherman Oaks, Calif.; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. A son, Kenneth BOWERS, and a step-daughter, Frances Jane JOHNSON, preceded in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Leiters Ford United Methodist Church with the Revs. Norris KING and Michael HAYDEN officiating. Burial will be in the Leiters Ford I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until noon on Friday at the Bonine Funeral Home, Culver, and an hour before services at the church. Memorials may be made to the Leiters Ford United Methodist Church.
