John Calvin Billips, Jr., son of John C. Billips, Sr. and Mary Anderson Billips, was born on August 13, 1970, on the Westbank of Jefferson Parish, Louisiana. He peacefully transitioned from this life and entered into eternal life on Saturday, July 28, 2018. John received his formal education in the Jefferson Parish school system graduating from L.W. Higgins High School. Upon graduation, he attended Xavier and Southern University. John served his country in the United States National Guard. He was married to Clara Staten of Monroe, Louisiana on June 26, 1999. This union was blessed with one child, Jessica Staten. He is preceded in death by Grace Joseph and Leonard Joseph of Kenner, Louisiana, Vera Robinson of Miami, Florida, Rose Loving of New Orleans, Louisiana, Dorothy Watson and Henry Watson of Kenner, Louisiana. His life will be forever cherished in the hearts of his daughter, Jessica Staten, Dallas, Texas; his parents, John C. Billips, Sr. and Mary A. Billips; his sister, Reba Joy Billips; his aunts: Ruby A. Carter (Leroy), Barbara Smith (Willie), of Zachary, Louisiana, and Janice McFarland, New Orleans, Louisiana; his uncles: Jarrot Anderson (Janice) of Zachary, Louisiana, Samuel R. Billips and Lou Billips of Baltimore, Maryland, Lawrence A. Billips (Julie) of Metairie, Louisiana, and a host of cousins, friends and other family members. Services will be held Saturday, August 4, 2018, at Richardson Funeral Home located at 11112 Jefferson, Hwy., River Ridge, LA at 12:30 p.m. Visitation to begin at 11:00 a.m.Interment: Belle Grove Cemetery, Kenner, LA. Repast to follow will be held at 12188 River Road, Destrehan, LA. Richardson Funeral Home of Jefferson, River Ridge, LA in charge of arrangements.
