Rodney – Lois A. Schroeder, 81, of Rodney, went to be with her Lord Sunday, December 24, 2017, at her residence.
She was born April 8, 1936, in Grant Center, the daughter of Elmer and Grace (Teeter) Peterson, and graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1953. On December 31, 1956, she married Allen C. Schroeder of Grant Township.
They farmed for many years, and also owned and operated Schroeder's General Store and Dairy Equipment in Grant Center. Lois' passions were her Lord Jesus Christ, whom she served faithfully; people, including her church family; and her kitchen.
Her husband Allen preceded her in death on February 12, 2013. Lois is survived by her daughter Chris Schroeder; her boys, Marc and Connie Schroeder, Jim Bob Squires, and Roger and Towna Aris; her grandchildren, Jessica and Jimmy Nellis, Stacey and Garry Heckard, Alec and Teresa Schroeder, James, Deven, and Tyler Squires, Nick and Teresa Aris, Joe and Katie Aris, Roger Aris, Melanie and Rick Kailing, and Shelly Millis; 12 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way; her daughter-in-law Dawn and Mike Coon; her sisters-in-law Valrey and Jim Wright, and Betty Peterson; her brothers-in-law Bruce Bryde and Alpha Clark; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her son Steven Schroeder, her brother Harry Peterson, and her sisters Vivian Bryde and Marlene Clark.
