Candler – Edith Louise Ewart Freeman, 68, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 4 2021 at the Elizabeth House.

A native of Buncombe County, she was a homemaker and formerly a member of Candler House of Prayer.

Mrs. Freeman was a daughter of the late Hardy Thomas Ewart and Rosie Mae Ramsey Ewart and former wife of Billy Joe Freeman who died July 25, 2016. She was also preceded in death by her Son, Scott Freeman and brothers, Alfred Ewart and Grady Ewart.

Surviving are her son, Jonathan Brian Freeman and wife Rhonda of Candler; granddaughters, Rebecca Freeman and Lindsay Freeman both of Candler; sister, Esther Dobbings (Tim) of Arden; brother, Mike Ewart (Nanette) of West Asheville and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, June 8, 2021 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with Rev. Gwen Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
