He was born August 2, 1918, a son of Albert and Elsie Roberts Johnson. He married Lucille Parton in Jacksonville; she died in 1994. Also preceding him in death were three brothers, William Johnson, Ivan Johnson, and Otto Johnson.
Mr. Johnson was an Army Air Corps Veteran, serving in World War II. He retired from a civil service position with the Jacksonville Naval Air Base. He was a deacon for a Jacksonville Southern Baptist church for 52 years.
Services and burial were held in Jacksonville.
Surviving are a daughter, Connye Crossman of Richmond Hill, Georgia; a granddaughter, Danielle of California; two brothers, Clemmeth Johnson of Berry and Bud Johnson of Carlinville; and a sister, Jennie Weger of Chatham.
