The Winfield Daily Courier, May 9, 1949:
Mrs. Maggie Cheever of Burden Dies Saturday
Mrs. Anna Margaret Cheever, 62, of Burden, died Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at St. Mary's Hospital. She had been in failing health for several months. She was known among her intimate friends as Maggie Cheever.
She was born Jan. 22, 1887, four and a half miles northeast of Burden at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. O. Anderson. Jan. 26, 1910 she was united in marriage to Delmar Lloyd Cheever. He died Dec. 23, 1921, and since then she had made her home at Burden.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Della Luce, Burden; niece, Shirley Mills of the home; a brother and two sisters, James Anderson and Mrs. Lena Miller, Burden; and Mrs. Telda Lockwood, Mulvane; two grandchildren, Betty and Jackie Luce.
Funeral services were held Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the Burden Methodist Church. Interment was in the Burden cemetery.
