Barbara 'Bobbie' Ireland Beckett passed away July 25, 2004. Bobbie was a native of Ft. Myers. She was born June 11, 1924, the daughter of David and Anne Ireland. She graduated from Ft. Myers Senior High School and attended Agnes Scott in Atlanta, GA. She married John T. Beckett August 3, 1943. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church for 70 years.
Her love was her family and friends. She gave freely of herself for the care of them. Bobbie will best be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor. She was a very special woman who will always be loved, treasured and missed.
She is survived by her husband John; daughters, Susan (David) Scott, Sandy (Larry) Chapman, son, David (Judith) Beckett; grandchildren, John McGuire, Shannon (Scott) Bigham, Ryan (Erin) Chapman, Anna (Nick) Polakiewicz, Whitney Beckett and Ford Beckett; two great-granddaughters Kinsey Bigham and Addison Polakiewicz, and her brother Warren (Rita) Montgomery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hope Hospice or to a charity of your choice.
Memorial service will be Saturday, July 31, 2004 at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church, 2438 Second St.
