Death of Wm. T. Trapp.

William Terry Trapp
died shortly after the midnight hour Saturday night, passing away as peacefully as a child going to sleep. His age was 64 years, 11 months and 6 days. He had been ailing for some time, but was not known to be seriously ill by his friends, hence his death was much in the nature of a shock. Mr. Trapp had lived in Galena for a number of years. His friends were legion, for he possessed traits of mind and character that endeared him to all with whom he came in contact. Those who knew him best referred affectionately to him as "Uncle Billy Trapp." He owned and lived in a home on Seventh street, but sold it, and with the money, went with his wife to California in hope of benefiting the health of both. Since their return, Mrs. Trapp has been following the vocation of a nurse in Joplin and Mr. Trapp has lived with a sister on Joplin street, between Sixth and Seventh, where he died. Thus the closing days of this worthy couple's life together, were filled with some sorrow, for circumstances prevented their living as doubtless they would have preferred.

Mr. Trapp was a charter member of the Modern Woodmen of America, which was organized here in 1888, and by his death a policy of $2,000 is payable to his wife.

The funeral services were held at the M. E. church this afternoon, under the auspices of the M. W. A. Rev. Liddell, of the Presbyterian church, preached a short funeral sermon, after which the remains of this good old man were taken to their last resting place in the Galena cemetery.
