Following is a short life sketch of John Sifrit notice of whose death appeared in last week's Democrat:
John William Sifrit was born in Illinois, April 8, 1861, and died at his home in Beaver, Ia., Sept 24, 1917. He was married April 30, 1890 to Miss Anna Gray. To them were born seven children, four sons and three daughters, all of whom with the widow are left to mourn the loss of their loving husband and father. The children are Edith (now Mrs. Chas Todd), Elmer, Robert, Dolpha, Lennon, Neva and Agnes.
Mr. Sifrit was one of a family of twelve children, five of whom are still living; three brothers and two sisters. They are Joseph of Beaver, Albert of Ohio, Frank of Oregon, Mrs. Joe Michels of Bingham Lake, Minn. and Mrs. Nancy Michels of Perry.
The funeral was held at the M.E. church Wednesday, September 26th at 2:30 o'clock conducted by Rev. H.D. Henry. Music was furnished by M.J. Rinker, Mrs. Doyle McGregor and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Clause, Mrs. Will Hagge, pianist.
The pallbearers were C.H. Last, F.F. Kirkendall, A.R. Doran, S.A. Powers, S.T. Anderson and Lafe Shadle. Interment was made in Beaver cemetery. The bereaved family have the sincere sympathy of the community in their hour of sorrow.
Some of those who attended the funeral from a distance were Mrs. Nancy Michels and family of Perry, Mrs. Joseph Michels of Bingham Lake, Minn, Mr. and Mrs. C.S. Powers of Moulton Ia, D.A. Gray of Des Moines and other from Perry, Rippey, Bouton and other places.
