DEATH OF AN OLD SETTLER
RECTOR--At Neosho Rapids, June 30th, 1880, at 10 o'clock a.m., of typhoid fever, Jacob Rector, aged 70 years.
The deceased was born in North Carolina, March 4, 1810. He came to this county with his family in 1859, and settled near what was then the town of Forest Hill. In 1864 he moved to the farm where he died, near Neosho Rapids. In 1877, being in poor health, he went overland to Arizona, principally to regain his health. He returned to his farm some months ago, and has been on the decline ever since. His wife died some years ago. Their family consisted of twelve children. The family and a large circle of acquaintances mourn the demise of Mr. Rector, who was a man highly respected for his good qualities.
