A much respected life - long resident of the community has passed, away In the death of Mrs. Bridget Burns, widow of Patrick Burns, which occurred this morning at 6:80 o'clock at the family home, 17 Elizabeth street. Mrs. Burn had been ill a long time of complications. The deceased was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs T Thomas Tigue, of Port Griffith. Her early life was passed in that village, and since her marriage to Mr. Burns she had been a resident of the Oregon section of the city, where she was held In much esteem as a kind neighbor and faithful friend. She was a devout member of St. John's R. C. Church, and was affiliated with the Altar and Rosary Society. Mrs. Burns, whose husband passed away, about three years ago, is survived by the following sons and daughters: Thomas, Francis, Mary, Elizabeth and Lourdes, also by one sister, Mrs. James Manley, of Port Griffith. The funeral. will be held Saturday morning, leaving the home at 9:30 o'clock. A mass of requiem will be sung in St. John's Church at ten o'clock, and burial will be In St. John's Cemetery.
