BLUFFTON, Ohio — Myron J. Youtsey, 89, passed away June 1, 2021, at the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. Myron was born Feb. 8, 1932, in Van Wert, to the late Clarence and Velma (Vance) Youtsey. On June 6, 1964, he married Gladys Peffley Youtsey who preceded him in death on Dec. 27, 2002.

Myron had worked at Lima Ford Engine Plant. He enjoyed NASCAR, the Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Dallas Cowboys. Myron served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. During his time in the Air Force he successfully disarmed a bomb in an airplane saving his entire unit for which he was very proud of.

Survivors include five children, Tammy (Bill Sommers) Judy of Bluffton, Diane Overmyer of Antwerp, Ohio, Jacqueline A. (Tia Hart) Youtsey of Bluffton, Myra McQuistion of Findlay, Scott A. Youtsey of North Baltimore; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a brother, Larry Youtsey of Dayton, Ohio.

Myron was preceded in death by two sons, Ivan and Leonard Youtsey.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 4, 2021, at Clymer Cemetery, 300 County Road 37, Bluffton, Ohio, with Rick Hart officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
