James D.Elsea, 213 Third Street, a retired painter and decorator, died at 6:30 a.m. Saturday in his home of a heart illness. Mr. Elsea who was in failing health for three years was 83 years old.
He was the son of Jacob and Polly (Bishop) Elsea. He married LuLu Gail Yates April 28, 1901. She survives.
A daughter Hazel died in 1910. He leaves two sisters, Mrs. Jacob Hoch, Rawson and Mrs. Verna Bisel, Findlay. Six brothers and one sister preceded.
Mr. Elsea who lived in the county all of his life. was a member of the First Lutheran Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today in the Barnhart Memorial, Dr. Homer Ferris of Middleport officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.
