The son of Joel Richard Ritter and Mary Ann McKenzie Ritter.

The husband of Annie Maude McKeithan Ritter.

The father of Verdie Mae Ritter Caddell and Hazel Josephine Ritter Faircloth Sadler.

Bud and Annie Maude lived and raised their daughters in the old Ritter homeplace on Esther Road near Eastwood community.

He was a timberman and an expert at estimating how many board feet could be cut from a tract of timber. All his logging was done with his teams of big horses.

Bud ended up trading his last team of logging horses to John Goldsmith for his granddaughter Edith Faye Caddell's first horse, a wild mustang mare, "Silver" in 1940.

Grandpa passed away at age 67 from a heart attack while at Camp Yonahlossee in Blowing Rock, NC, while helping his daughter Verdie with her Camp horses.

Bud and Annie Maude are buried in the Culdee Presbyterian Church Cemetery near Eastwood.

Bud Ritter was my great-grandfather.
