He first appears in Braintree, Massachusetts, where is first wife, Margaret and his daughter, Grace died, and where his son Benjamin was born.
Margaret Spalding, wife of Edward, died in 1640. Edward's second wife was Rachel. Rachel was the mother of Andrew Spalding, grandfather of Abigail. Edward Spalding died 26 February 1670.
