Andrew Spalding, father of Abigail, was born on 25 March 1678 in Chelmsford, Massachusetts and died on 7 November 1753. He married Abigail Warren on 5 February 1701. Abigail died on 12 May 1768. Andrew resided in Chelmsford and was Deacon of the Church.
Andrew Spalding, grandfather of Abigail, was born on 19 November 1652. He married Hannah Jefes, daughter of Henry Jefes, of Bilerica, Massachusetts, on 30 April 1674. Hannah Jefes died on 21 January 1730. Andrew Spalding was the youngest child of Edward Spalding, and succeeded, by the will of his father, to the paternal estate. Andrew was chosen deacon of the church and held that office at the time of his death. His son Andrew and his grandson Ephraim also held the same office.
Edward Spalding, great grandfather of Abigail, was the first of the Spalding, as far as is known, to come to America and the Massachusetts Colony. Edward arrived between 1630 and 1633. He first appears in Braintree, Massachusetts, where is first wife, Margaret and his daughter, Grace died, and where his son Benjamin was born.
Margaret Spalding, wife of Edward, died in 1640. Edward's second wife was Rachel. Rachel was the mother of Andrew Spalding, grandfather of Abigail. Edward Spalding died 26 February 1670.
