Ely was born on May 14, 1965, the son of Ernest José and Elizabeth May Lorraine Estrada Ortiz in Tucumcari, NM.
Ely had been a carpenter in commercial construction before he passed away.
Ely was preceded in death by his two brothers, Mario and Trampas.
Ely is survived by his father, Ernest J. Ortiz and his wife, Eva, mother, Elizabeth L. Ortiz, two sons, Aaron Lucero and Mario Ortiz, one daughter, Elycia Ortiz, one brother, Leroy Ortiz, two sisters, Edna Ortiz and Eileen Jordan, grandmother, May Ortiz and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins and ex-wives, Gina Hurtado and Patsy Ortiz and fiancée, Janeth Heines.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 20, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Calvary Chapel, 4001 Osuna Rd. NE, Albuquerque, with Pastor Skip Heitzig officiating.
