Jacquelyn "Jackie" Bennor Patrick, 89, formerly of Canton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Trinity View in Arden.

Jackie was born on November 8, 1931, in Macon, Georgia and raised by her parents, Joseph and Emma Bennor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John L. "Jack" Patrick, who died in 1997. Jackie married Jack Patrick and moved to Canton in 1960, where they opened JACK'S 5 & 10.

As a master gardener and earning a degree in horticulture, plants and gardening occupied much of Jackie's time. She was appointed Volunteer Beautification Director for Canton and conceptualized the Nighttime "Light One Little Candle Christmas Parade," an ongoing tradition during the holiday season. In 1987, Jackie received the First Governor and Mrs. Dan I. Moore award for volunteer beautification work.

She is survived by her son, John L. Patrick, Jr. and wife, Cleta of Kingsport, Tennessee; her daughter, J. Victoria Patrick and husband, Ray Tobias of Asheville; and one grandson, John L. Patrick, III of Kingsport, Tennessee; and cousins, Edward Porch of Stuart, Florida and Charles and Robin Roberts and Mike Porch, all of Manassas, Virginia.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
