Douglas S. Hilliard, age 42, of Andover, died Tuesday, October 31, 2006, in Columbus, Ohio. He was born October 9, 1964, in Cleveland, to Leo and Jeannette (Mikesell) Hilliard. Formerly of Garfield Heights, Mr. Hilliard had lived in the Andover area for the past eight years. He was employed by Werner Enterprises out of Omaha, NE, for the past three months. Prior to that he worked for New Beginnings Landscaping in Kinsman for several years. Mr. Hilliard was a member of the Andover Christian Church; and he was an avid NASCAR racing fan. Mr. Hilliard is survived by his wife, Sandra M. (Roof) Hilliard, of Andover, whom he married August 27, 1988; his daughter, Kera A. Hilliard, and son, Jacob D. Hilliard, both of Andover; his parents, Leo and Jeanette Hilliard of Williamsfield, OH; and his sister, Kelly Hilliard of Stroudsburg, PA. He is preceded in death by his brother, Roger Hilliard. A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 4, 2006, at 7 p.m. at the Andover Christian Church, Stillman Ave., Andover, OH, with pastor Robert Gears officiating. Calling hours were from 4 p.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Mr. Hilliard will be cremated and burial of cremated remains will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery, Andover at a later time. Arrangements are being handled by Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect Street, Andover, Ohio.
