Harold J. Donta 89, of Ashland, passed away with his family by his side Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at Woodland Oaks Healthcare Facility.
Harold was born June 05, 1931, in Ashland to the late Harry Everett Donta and Bess Gillium Donta.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Shirley Ann Driver Donta; a son Harry Jay Donta; two grandchildren Kelly Slone and Donald Wayne Griffith; and an infant brother James Hershel Donta.
Harold was a member of Wildwood Baptist Church. He was an accountant with ARMCO Steel where he worked until he retired. He was a former scout master and coached little league, minor league and Babe Ruth for many years. He was a past member of Poage Lodge also.
He leaves behind three loving daughters. Beverly Slone of Ashland, Donna Griffith (Larry) of Niceville, FL and Teresa Slone (Mark) of Ashland; 7 Grandchildren, 22 Great-Grandchildren and two Great-Great-Grandchildren; along with a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, May 27, 2021, at Caniff Funeral Home in Westwood with Pastor Jim Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be Thursday from 10-11.
