CAPE NEDDICK - Curtis L. Dumont, 72, of Mountain Road in York, died on Saturday, August 19, 2017, at York Hospital following a period of failing health. Born in Biddeford, Maine, on October 29, 1944 he was a son of the late Paul P. and Eudora B. (Foster) Dumont.

He was raised primarily in Kennebunk and attended local schools. Following school he proudly served his country in the United States Navy.

In 1965 he married his loving wife of over fifty years Carol Ann (Connors) Dumont and together they made a home in Eliot until late 1970's when the settled in York and raised their family.

Curt retired from the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Shop 72 as a rigger. He went on to work at the Patten Yacht Yard, York Harbor Home, Edgewood Center and for many years at Electric Light.

Curt had a passion for hot rods building and owning a number of his own as well as being a founding member of the Saturday Night Kruise Knights and a member of the Old Time Cruisers. Curt also enjoyed his time spent motorcycling early on with the Broken Spoke Motorcycle Club and recreationally on his four wheeler with friends. Curt also enjoyed breeding, raising, grooming and showing Newfoundland Show dogs for many years.

An avid out of doors- man he enjoyed camping with his family, hunting, fishing and canoeing. He also enjoyed his many friends, especially his daily breakfast crew. He was a strong supporter of both the VFW and the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife Carol Ann of Cape Neddick; Son James and his wife Sue Dumont of Autryville, N.C.; brother Paul P. And his wife Sherri Anne Dumont of Limerick, Maine; daughter in-law Debbie Dumont of Milford, N.H.; grandchildren Aiden, Jeremiah, John and Nathaniel; brother in-laws Buzz Connors and Merle "Skip" Connors; sister in-law Edith Douglass and nephews Michael, Brandon, Brian and Glenn. He was predeceased by his son Dean Dumont in 2007.

SERVICES: Friends are invited to visit with his family on Thursday evening, from 5-8 p.m., in the JS Pelkey Funral Home, 125 Old Post Rd., Kittery, Maine, 03904. Memorial service and military honors will be held on Friday, at 10 a.m., in the Southern Maine Veterans Cemetery, 83 Stanley Rd., Springvale, Maine, 04083.
