Obituary
Dale Burman, 94, of Boone and formerly of Ogden, passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, Iowa.

A funeral service for Dale will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at the Community United Methodist Church in Ogden, Iowa. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at the church. Carson-Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden has been entrusted with arrangements. John Dale Burman, son of Paul and Blanche (Fouch) Burman was born on June 18, 1926 in Paton, Iowa. Dale received his education in the Boxholm area and graduated from Lanyon High School in Lanyon, Iowa.

On June 18, 1947, Dale was united in marriage to Lucille Ott in Boxholm, Iowa. The couple resided and farmed near Boxholm until 1987. After retiring from farming they built a house in Ogden and spent time in Arizona in the winter. Lucille passed away on December 28, 1995. Following Lucille's passing, Dale married Mary Ellen Corrick-Dennert on January 17, 1998.

Dale was involved in many community organizations. He was active in the E.U.B church serving as a Sunday School Superintendent and teacher. He served on the Grand Community school board for 11 years. He was a member of the Leonard Good Trust for 23 years. Dale was also a member of the Community United Methodist Church in Ogden.

Dale enjoyed needlework, jigsaw puzzles, collecting coins, but most of all he enjoyed people. Whether it was visiting over coffee or helping someone in need, this is where he shined.

In addition to his parents, Dale was also preceded in death by his first wife, Lucille; his second wife, Mary Ellen; his daughter, Connie Dressen; son-in-law, Dan Dressen and his granddaughter.

Survivors include his granddaughter, Kimberly (Chris) Dardis of Chaska, MN; three great grandchildren, Charlie, Lucy and Drew Dardis; his step children, James Walter (Debra) Dennert of Apache Junction, Arizona, Vicki Ann (Michael) McCambridge of Boone, Margaret Ellen (Dale) Janssen of Joplin, Missouri, Richard Brian (Florilea) Dennert of Naperville, Illinois, Mary Rebecca (David) Seidl of Garfield, Arkansas, and Lori Jeanne (Lonnie) Hikiji of Boone; 15 step grandchildren and 14 step great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be directed to Boone Co. Hope Foundation or Israel Hospice.
