Obituary of Karla Kay Rancour PLAY TRIBUTE MOVIE
Karla Kay Rancour, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to everyone she met, passed away Thursday January 28th, 2021 in Traverse City, Michigan. She was born February 19th, 1940 in her family home in Monroe Center. She was delivered by Dr. Neil Bronson, a traveling doctor from Traverse City.

Kay graduated from Buckley High School in 1958. She married her high school sweetheart and best friend from Buckley, Bob Rancour. They were married at St. Mary of Hannah Church in Kingsley. Shortly after, she traveled alone to Germany where Bob had been stationed in the army. This was the beginning of a lifetime of adventures traveling and raising a beautiful family.

Kay had a strong work ethic which she instilled in others. She worked at Burwood Products Company for 20 years and retired from the United States Post Office as a rural route carrier.

Upon retirement she enjoyed antiquing with her husband, working in her beautiful garden, wintering in Florida, and spending time with her family who adored her.

Karla is survived by her three sons, Jeffery, Thomas, and Nick Rancour; daughter, Angel Kanonik; brother, Henry Bartz; grandchildren, Cole, Mike (Lysa Rancour), Brittaney (Eve Taylor), Savannah, Sierra, Sage (Stephanie Rancour), Rachel, David, (Sue Rancour), Brooke, Meghan (Bryan Kanonik), Paulina, Max, Jake, (Angela Pasquarelli-Rancour), great grandchild, Novelia; her nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Karla was preceded in death by her loving husband Bob; parents, Wilma and Tom Bartz; brothers, Tommy, Jack, and William Bartz; sister, Phyllis Shimek, and beloved pets.

Kay will forever be remembered for her generosity, sense of humor, love, and patience. Her doors were always open to anyone who needed her, and all were met with open arms and a loving heart.
