Vernon "Ed" Mulkey, 73, of Albion, passed away peacefully at home January 17, 2019. He was born May 8, 1945 to Hubert and Mattie (Norton) Mulkey in Harlan County, Kentucky. He is survived by his wife and best friend Irene Mulkey. He was retired from Harvand Industries and went back to work for a short time for Patriot Satellite. He continued to take on handyman jobs for friends and family. He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church. He enjoyed church, singing gospel music, fishing, karaoke and was well known as the Southern Gentleman. He loved tinkering around with home projects, mostly he loved his time with his wife. In addition to his wife, he is survived by children: Kay Mulkey of Leslie, Vern (Kristin) Mulkey of Eaton Rapids, Pamela (Todd) Wolf of Eaton Rapids, 3 step-sons: Charlie, Terry, and Tommy Compton of Albion, and Kenneth Mulkey formerly of Albion; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by wife, Rose Cline Mulkey; his parents; 5 brothers; 3 sisters; and daughter, Roseda Gray.
