Gillespie --- Florence Ellen (Hopper) Nitz, 65, died at 4:45 am Wednesday at St Francis Hospital in Litchfield, Montgomery Co, Illinois.

She was born in Illinois, daughter of the late John Palmer and Mary Melissa (Dyer) Hopper. She married William Nitz who preceded her in death in 1975.

Surviving are two sons, William Nitz of Gillespie, Macoupin Co, Illinois and Robert Holtorf of Fosterburg, Madison Co, Illinois, four daughters, Dorothy Snyder of Wood River, Madison Co, Illinois, Marie Stukey and Irene Elliston, both of Charotte, Michigan, and Shirley Binning of Potterville, Michigan; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother Richard Hopper of Gillespie, Macoupin Co, Illinois and two sisters, Myrtle Ahrling of Shipman, Macoupin Co, Illinois and Mary Hartmann of Waverly, Neb.

Visitation will be after 6 pm Friday at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie, Macoupin Co, Illinois, where the services will be conducted at 1 pm. Saturday with the Rev Ray Ditch officiating.

Burial will be in Gillespie City Cemetery, Gillespie, Macoupin Co, Illinois.

She was also married to Herman Holtorf , he died 11 February 1974 and is buried in Bunker Hill Cemetery, Bunker Hill, Macoupin Co, Illinois.
