Levi Alexander Baucom was a son of Alfred Willison "Willis" Baucom and his wife Frances "Fannie" Waddell. On 17 Dec. 1868, he married Sarah Jane Brooks (1842-1934) in Union County, NC. They lived in Lanesboro Township, Anson County. They had at least five children, William Cader Baucom (1870-1941), James Franklin Baucom (1872-1963), Ida I Baucom (1875-1960, Mrs. Helms), Mary Elizabeth Baucom (1880-1918, Mrs. Hasty) and John Darling Baucom (1883-1969). At some point before 1900, Levi and Sarah Jane Brooks divorced. On 7 Nov. 1905, he married Mahalia Lee (c. 1859-1927). She died on 11 March 1927, and he died 18 days later on 29 March 1927.
