LINCOLN - Claude Elwood Van Fossan, 81, passed away at his home in, Lincoln. IL on May 20, 2021.
Claude was born on August 29, 1939, at his home in Elkhart, IL, son of George Elwood and Virgie Viola (Rhodes) Van Fossan. Claude married Carla S. Mallinson on July 3, 1981 in Lincoln, IL.
Surviving Claude is his children: Jodee (Mark) Pedigo, Lisa (Jeff) Bonnett, Terri (Dirk) Heinhorst, Shane Van Fossan and Amanda (Jason) Rankin; siblings: Helen Hoagland, Rose Musick, Sharon (Jim) Follis, Margaret Edwards and Jean (Harold) Boyer; twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Claude was preceded in death by his parents four sisters: Freda White, Gladys Elkins, Laura Molt and Ethel Overbey, brother: George Van Fossa, and one infant brother: Loren Van Fossan.
Claude proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1958-1962. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #210, Lincoln York Rite Bodies Lincoln Chapter # 147, Lincoln Council # 83 and Constantin Commandery # 51.
Services for Claude will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, IL with Ron Otto officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2021 also at the funeral home. Burial at Zion Cemetery will follow the service where full military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post # 263. Masonic services for Claude will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday May 25, 2021 after the visitation.
Memorials may be made in Claude's name to Emma Welp's DIPG Fight, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Logan County Fair Association.
