He was preceded in death by his parents: Ward & Viola Young; and sisters: Jeanne Carlson and Suzie Carlson. Jim believed in God and Country and his motto: 'My Life, My Way'. He was married to the love of his life, Jeanie and they did everything together, side by side always. Jim was inducted into the Cambridge-Isanti Basketball Hall of Fame for his business and booster club contributions to the program. He owned Peoples State Agency, serving the Cambridge community. He loved the city of Cambridge and gave his time and talents willingly. He served on the Chamber of Commerce, Jacket Hoops Booster and the Purple Hawk Country Club Board of Directors, and he was a member of the American Legion Post 290. His private passions were the Balmoral Boys and living up to his moniker of Gamblin' Man Young. He never missed 'Wine Time' and was called the 'Grill Master' when he entertained his many friends and family. In fact, his rendition of 'Take me out to the Ball Game' can be heard during the 7th inning stretch at Avon Lakers Field in Avon, MN. Jim is survived by his wife: Jeanie (Gloria Jean Lundblad); children: Teri (David) Kalthoff and David (Kari) Young; and grandchildren: Evan, Abigail & Abraham Kalthoff and Lindsey & Sydney Young; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
