Helen was a native of Baytown and resident of Beaumont.
She worked as a secretary for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for many years but later retired as a switchman. She and her family were very proud of this fact, for at that time the position was predominantly male.
Survivors include her daughter, Diane Grimes and husband Paul; two grand-daughters, Kimberly Traylor and husband Scott and Kristi McDonald and husband Brian; three great-grandchildren, Landon Traylor, Karlynn Traylor and Aubree Ann Traylor.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Bertha Murphy and her husband of fifty-eight years, Albert H. Adkisson.
