Meridian - July 2 Funeral services for Thomas J. Chambers, 54, were held from a local Funeral Home Tuesday.

Mr. Chambers, well known insurance man, drowned Sunday, when his car left the highway north of Laural. The machine somesaulted and landed bottom side up in Tallahala Creek.

Survivors include his wife, Mamie P. Chambers; three sons, Joe and T. J. Chambers, Jr., Meridian; Hugh Chambers, Newton; three sisters, Mrs. Paul Simonette, Atlanta; Sister Mary Stanislaus, Mobile; Miss Virgina Chambers, San Angelo, Texas, and a brother Bernard Chambers.

Mr. Chambers was a member of the insurance firm of Weems & Chambers. He was a member of the Masonic Order, Knights Templar, Knights of Pythias D. O. K. K., steward in Central Methodist Church and held membership in the Insurance Agents Association.

Mr. Chambers, a former Okolonian, was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Chambers.
