Andy Hargis, born in Washington co., Mo., January 19, 1833; died April 22, 1918; was laid to rest in the Murr cemetery, April 23rd. Mr. Hargis came to Texas county in 1855; was married to Elizabeth Harrison in the year 1857. To this union one child was born, the mother and babe both dying. Mr. Hargis, in the year 1880, married Martha J. Burris. To this union four children were born, all of whom are living. Mr. Hargis joined the Presbyterian church in an early day. He was a friend to man; to anyone and every one was a kindly helping hand extended; truthfulness and honesty was his. Truly a good man has passed away.
