Nina D Conner, the oldest of five children born to David & Mary Alice Pugh Conner. She married, "Virginia, U.S., Select Marriages, 1785-1940", July 15, 1903, in Floyd, Virginia, James Bruster, a son of James M and Mary Hankins Brewster. (Alternate spelling of last name) Two known daughters were born to this marriage, Mary Alice Bruster Mayse and Edith (Edie) Madelene Bruster Gorsica. (1920 United States Federal Census) James died, Apr.12, 1927, before they could have more children. "West Virginia, U.S., Deaths Index, 1853-1973"
Nina and James owned and operated a drug company, "Bruster Drug Co. Inc.", as listed in the "Roanoke, Virginia, City Directory 1913" (presumed a Pharmacy). James died young, at 53 years of age, and Nina continued the business, "1930 Federal Census". Which it seems, turned into a family business. According to the "1940 Federal Census", Nina was, "Owner/Manager" and both daughters worked there, Mary was the "Cosmetic Dept. Manager" and Edith was a "Pharmacist". The "West Virginia Death Index" lists Nina, as a "Corporate Executive", at the time of her death.
