Vincent J. Rauner, 70, a retired lawyer and Motorola senior vice president died of cancer Monday in Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Mr. Rauner, a resident of Chicago and Galena, began working with Motorola in 1953 when he joined the patent law firm of Mueller and Aichele, which represented the company. In 1970, he became patent department manager of Motorola. He was elected senior vice president of patents, trademarks and licensing in 1988, retiring in 1992. He is survived by his wife, Carol; three sons, Bruce, Christopher and Mark; two daughters, Paula Rauner and Larisa Olson; and six grandchildren Mass for Mr. Rauner will be said at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Church of Our Savior Episcopal, 530 W. Fullerton Pkwy., Chicago.
