Mrs. P. Otto Ashley
Mrs. Mildred Bagwell Ashley, of 601 Greer St., died at 2:45 wife Sunday in Self Memorial Sunday Hospital.
Mrs. Ashley was born in Laurens County, a daughter of the late John W. and Delia Manley Bagwell. She had lived in Greenwood for the past 27 years was employed by Greenwood Mills. She was a member of the Quarter Century Club and a member of Callie Self Greenwood Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, P. Otto Ashley; one daughter, Mrs. Carey Smith of Greenwood; one sister, Mrs. Essie Bishop of Ware Shoals; one brother, F. L. Bagwell of Donalds and one granddaughter.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 3 p.m. from Callie Self Memorial Baptist Church by the Rev. Reuel Westbrook, the Rev. C. H. Southerland and the Rev. Don Hawthorne. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be William C. Ashley, Ansel Ashley Jr., Henry and Everett Bishop, Elmo Sawyer, Carl Garrett, Billy Burts, Lamar Elledge.
The honorary escort will be composed of Marshall Leaman, Ed Pickell, Roy Welborn, Robert Liner, Roy Witt, Johnny Hamilton, Tom Crawford, James and Houston Crawford, Furman Bagwell, J. W. Tinney, Dr. Travis Stevenson, Henry McKinney, Charles Fields, Jesse Wallace, Ralph Stone, Holloway Buzhardt, Dr. R. M. Christain, Wilbur Crawford, Billy Ray Spivey, Rufus Kinard, T. O. Cooper, Dewey Owings, Tom Bryant, T. S. Snipes, Jack Sizemore, Tommy Roland, Columbus Fuller, Roger Pruitt, David Magaha, Martin Fagan and The Men's Bible Class of the church.
The body is at Harley Funeral Home and will be placed in the church Tuesday at 2 p.m
The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9 o'clock.
