Mrs. Mary Burns, 82, of 19 Elizabeth St., Pittston, died Thursday night in NPW Medical Center, Plains Twp., where she was a medical patient. Her husband, Francis, died in the Knox Mine disaster, Jan. 22, 1959. Born in Minooka, daughter of the late Peter and Catherine Cusick, she was educated in Minooka Schools and was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston, and its women's societies. Surviving are a daughter, Theresa, at home; two sons, Joseph F., Norristown, Francis P., William St., Pittston; four grandchildren. A sister-in-law. Sister M. Ursula, IHM, is stationed at the Marian Convent, Dunmore. The funeral will be Monday at 9 a.m. from the Stanley M. Leonard Funeral Home, 67 William St., Pittston, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church. Interment, Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Viewing, Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
