Bobby Welborn, age 82, passed away Thursday, May 13, 2021. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 17, 2021 at the Bible Baptist Church in Floydada. Interment will follow at the Floyd County Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Sunday, May 16, 2021 in the Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Floydada. Arrangements are under the personal care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Floydada.

Bobby Mack was born February 13, 1939 in Floydada to J.D and Ermon Welborn. After attending Floydada public schools, Bobby served in the US Army for 3 years. Then on December 31, 1959, he married the love of his life, Nancy Hammons at the Calvary Baptist Church in Floydada, and they enjoyed 61 wonderful years together.

Bobby worked as the Water Superintendent for the City of Floydada for many years retiring in 2000. He also served his community as Chief of the Floydada Volunteer Fire Department for over 30 years. He was so gifted in his skill as a firefighter that he served as an Instructor at the Texas A&M Fire School for 30 years. Bobby was incredibly competitive in all his endeavors including fire competitions, Spades, and most especially Dominoes at the Welborn Family Reunions proudly bringing home 18 trophies over the years. Other hobbies Bobby enjoyed were playing Canasta, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. Bobby was also an active participant in his church, Bible Baptist Church, serving both as a Deacon and teaching Sunday School.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Eunice Lewis; and a brother, James Welborn.

Those left to cherish Bobby's memory are his wife, Nancy; his daughter, Lisa Welborn of New Deal; his son, David Welborn and his wife Rhona of Slaton; his grandchildren, Ryan Welborn, Lindsey and husband Tory Smith, Cody Welborn and his wife Amy; his great-grandson, Browen and his sisters, Donna Booth of Burleson and JoAnn Gooch of Floydada. He was loved by many nieces and nephews.
