Janet Kay Neff, 81, of McCordsville, passed away May 10, 2021. She was born July 9, 1939, in Frankfort, Indiana, to the late Carl E. Gant and Avis (née Miller) Gant. Janet was a graduate of Thorntown High School and received her bachelor's degree in Education from Hanover College.

She married Henry "Hank" Neff, and he preceded her in death on December 22, 2019, after 56 years of marriage.

Janet was a teacher at New Milford High School in New Milford, New Jersey, for nearly 30 years prior to her retirement and return to Indiana.

Janet was an extremely loving, caring and giving person. She never met a stranger and loved talking with people and making new friends everywhere she went. She always had a smile on her face and had a kind word for everyone. An avid reader, she also enjoyed golfing and playing cards, shopping and lunch with friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Janet is survived by her children, Carrie (Joe) Patterson and Carl (Allison) Neff; granddaughters Ansley, Lillian, Rosalie and Audrey; and siblings Donald Gant, David Gant and Suzanne Stevens.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Ronald Gant and Dennis Gant.
