Fontenot, a homemaker, was a devout Catholic and loved by many. Fontenot, 91, a native and resident of Ville Platte, passed away at 6:20 a.m. February 18, 2017 at Heritage Manor in Ville Platte after a short illness. Fontenot donated her body to science at LSU Medical.
Fontenot is survived by two daughters, Gail (Al) Jenner, of Williamsburg, Virginia and Gerianne Rider, of Ville Platte; one sister, Weellen Lemoine; 11 grandchildren; and host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Fontenot was preceded in death by two husbands, Dalbes Fontenot and Paul Manuel; parents, Simon A. Fontenot and Domitile (Vidrine) Fontenot; a son, James Stacey Fontenot; and one brother, Huey Fontenot.
Funeral services for Laura Mae Fontenot were held February 20, 2017 at Our Lady Queen of All Saints in Ville Platte. Father Mitchell Guidry officiated.
