EAST PEORIA - Margaret A. Checklin, 70, of East Peoria, formerly of Peoria, passed away at 12:25 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, 2007, at Manor Care at Riverview.

She was born June 28, 1937, in Peoria to David Paul and Ioline Junette (Koerner) Checklin.

Surviving are two sisters, Elsie Thompson and Junette Seiler, both of Peoria; a nephew, Stephen J. (Lois) Seiler of Peoria; a niece, Judy J. (Tom) Reiter of Bloomington; great-nieces and great-nephews, Joseph, Jennifer, Clinton and Cynthia; and several cousins.

She received a bachelor's degree from Illinois State University in education.

She was a kindergarten teacher for Peoria District 150 for more than 30 years, retiring in 1990.

She was also a member of Retired Teachers Association, Peoria Heights Order of Eastern Star 933 and Parkview UCC Church.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007, at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. The Rev. Stephen Barch will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the chapel. Entombment will be in American Mausoleum.

Memorials may be made to Parkview UCC Church or Methodist Hospice.
