Carmine P. Aumenta Carmine P. Aumenta, 70, of Fredon Township, passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021 in his home surrounded by his loving family. Carmine was born in Jersey City to the late Patrick and Gertrude (SanFilippo) Aumenta. He grew up and spent most of his life in Jersey City, moved to Berkeley Heights where he raised his family, before most recently residing in Fredon Township. Prior to his retirement, he ran his own plumbing and heating company for last 44 years, Carmine P. Aumenta & Sons Plumbing & Heating, which his sons still operate to this day. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed everything about the outdoors. He enjoyed beekeeping, traveling, maintaining his koi pond and when his children were younger, was fully involved in all of their activities, particularly the Boy Scouts. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. The beloved husband to Anne Marie Serafin, he is survived by his children; Lauren Cerniglia and her husband Ryan, Carmine P. Aumenta, Jr. and his wife Shannon, Benjamin P. Aumenta and his wife Tara as well as his six grandchildren; Kaylee, Ryan, Elyse, Julia, Carmine III and Frankie Emma. He is also survived by his brother; Benjamin P. Aumenta, his sister; Pamela Ferro and her husband Matthew and nieces Andrea and Christine and their families. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 6, 2021, at the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High Street, Newton, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A Mass of Catholic Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 7, 2021, at Saint Joseph R.C. Church, 24 Halsted St, Newton. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery and Mausoleum, 340 Ridge Rd, North Arlington. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center
