Funeral services for Hersley Blair, Jr. 77 of Missouri City, formerly of West Columbia, will be Friday, May 14, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at New Faith Church, 4315 W. Fugua St., Houston, TX with Dr. Andre J. Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Fields Paradise Cemetery in Brazoria, Texas.
He passed away on Friday, May 7, 2021 at Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital in Sugar Land, Texas.
He was a member of New Faith Church in Houston. He was an avid sports fan and loved to travel. His greatest joy was spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Iva Nell Blair; father, Hersley Blair, Sr.; mother, Allinese Paul Blair and brother, Randolph Hobbs.
He leaves to cherish his memories; sons, Eric Blair (Angela), Spring and Jason Blair (Tiffanie), Humble; daughters, Debra Crump (Johnny), Katy, Shequa Mitchell (Bobby) and Rhonda Blair both of Missouri City, best friends, J.C. Lee, Beaumont and Mr. Flowers; 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, host of other relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Aeron Griggs, Courtney Mays, Brandon Mays, Kyle Earl, Oriathein Brown, Terance Colquitt, Bobby Mitchell, II and Marlon Foster.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jamal Brooks, Welton Colquitt, Elroy Griggs, Randy Hobbs, Jr. and Ryan Hobbs, Chad Blair, Tyrell Blair, Jason Blair, Jr. and Eric Blair, II.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 13, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Brazoria. There will be viewing at the church on the day of the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
