She was born at Sioux Falls, SD on August 22, 1930, the daughter of Iron Telphard and Dolly May (Stone) Hanks.
Frances enjoyed riding horse as a younger woman and went fishing with her Dad many times. She continued to enjoy fishing throughout her life. She liked to read, do puzzles and play cards. Another favorite pastime of hers was listening to music, especially the Conway Twitty song, "The Rose". She also liked to sit outside with her husband and watch the clouds go by and look for eagles. As a couple, they never stopped holding each others hands.
Frances and Martin had ten children that she dearly loved and simply always wanted them to be happy in their life.
She will be deeply missed by her husband Martin of rural Hazel, children, Beverly Tubb of Nunda, SD, Leland Rasmussen of Fayetteville, NC, Kay Wolke of Salem, OR, Dianne McRoden of Sturgis, SD, Dolly Rasmussen of Hayti, SD, Susan Wilson of Milwaukee, OR, Reuben Rasmussen of Hubbard, OR, Darlene Rasmussen of Hazel, Steven Rasmussen of Nashville, NC and Sally Tyson-Hall of Virginia Beach, VA; 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and sisters Phyllis Scott of Rockford, IL, Pearl Van Egmond of Estelline, SD, Edith St Clair of Chester, SD and Gladys Iverson of Oregon.
Private family services and burial will be held at the Pleasant Lutheran Cemetery near Vienna, SD.
