Andrew John Bratsos, age 28, passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at his home. He was born August 9, 1992 in Winfield, IL to his loving parents, Michael and Amy Bratsos. Cherished brother of Christopher (Kelly, nee Harkness) Bratsos and Bethany Bratsos. Beloved uncle of Bennett and Dylan Bratsos. Dearest nephew of Arlene Loudaros, Marilyn (Tom) Hinke, Pete (Marna) Bratsos, Patty Cullen, Betsy Kitchell, and Ann (Ken) Kamenjarin. Dearest cousin of many. Loving role model for his cousin's young children. Preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Florence Bratsos and Jack and Beth Ekblom.

Andrew graduated from Neuqua Valley High School, class of 2011, and from Illinois State University, class of 2016, with a degree in biology. His professional work was dedicated to environmental sustainability issues and he most recently worked with a global healthcare company that specializes in lifesaving medicines and technologies. From the time he was 6 years old, Andrew enjoyed competitive swimming, beginning in his neighborhood park district pool. He went on to compete with various championship teams throughout the Midwest and was a valuable member of Naperville Swim Club and Fox Valley Swim Team. Andrew also swam with his high school varsity team, where his successes included a state championship and induction into the Neuqua Valley swimming hall of fame.

Andrew's passions were many and he loved to express his unique perspectives through drawing, art and conversation. He spent his time reading, cooking, learning, bicycling, caring for animals and playing with his cousins. Andrew lived in true brotherhood with his neighbors and dreamt of a world where equality would supersede privilege. His ability to cast aside differences and embrace the unique beauty of all people shined when he volunteered his time with those less fortunate. His compassionate soul, resilient spirit, fun-loving nature, and witty demeanor will forever live on in the hearts of those who love him.
