JONESPORT - Phyllis Edna Wilder 1925 - 2017 Phyllis Edna Wilder of Jonesport passed away peacefully June 6, 2017 at Downeast Community Hospital in Machias, at the age of 92. She was born Phyllis Beal, the daughter of Charles Edward Beal and Dorothy Beatrice Faulkingham Seavey, on January 8, 1925 in Jonesport, Maine. She is predeceased by a daughter Phyllis Ann Rogde who passed away in 1963 at the age of 17, a sister Ethelyn Beal Nelson, and brothers Hillson Beal and Earl Beal.
Phyllis was a member of the Steuben Congregation of Jehovahs Witnesses for many years. She was a very social, compassionate and caring person who gave to many people in need and enjoyed studying the Bible, nature, and feeding the birds. Her first husband was Miles Rogde of New Orleans, LA. Phyllis then married Albert E. Wilder from Billerica, MA for more than 30 years until his passing in 2005. She always missed him dearly and spoke of him often until her passing. Phyllis had several jobs in her life including being a civilian welder during the 2nd World War at Bath Iron Works. She owned and ran the Missionary Thrift Shop in Addison for many years as well. She did all that she could do to care for her children and sacrificed her own needs many times to make sure that her children came first. She is and will be greatly missed by both family and many friends.
