Mrs. Mae J. Walton of 123 East Morris avenue, resident of McAlester since 1903 and wife of Police Sgt. Henry Walton, died at a local hospital last night following a short illness. Mrs. Walton was about 75 years of age. Only a few hours prior to her death, a son, Charles Woolard, had died suddenly at Tishomingo. She had not been informed of his death. Mrs. Walton was born in Denison, Tex. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Whitt Woolard of Portland, Ore. and Leo Woolard of Redondo Beach, Calif.; seven grandchildren, including Leo Woolard, Jr., whom she raised, and five great grandchildren. Mrs. Walton was a member of the Church of Christ. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Church of Christ, with A. C. Grimes, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery under the direction of the Humphrey funeral home.
