Born in Richland, Lebanon County, she is the widow of John T. Miller, who died in October 2003. She is the daughter of the late Russell B. and Amy Kurtz Ebling.
She graduated from Susquehanna University and Eastern Lebanon County. She worked as a Caseworker for the Lancaster County Assistance Office of Public Welfare for 35 years, retiring on June 24, 2005. She was affiliated with the Church of the Brethren. She was a member of the Pilot Club of Lancaster and held various offices, including Past President.
She enjoyed crossword puzzles, crafts, cooking, canning jellies, flower and vegetable gardening, and was a pet lover.
She is survived by three step daughters and one step son: Kathleen Ogden of Harrisburg, PA; Constance, wife of Thomas R. Rife, Lancaster, PA and Mary, wife of Henry Weik, Lancaster, PA and John T. Miller, II, husband of Linda, Brunswick, GA. She is also survived by two sisters, Guianna, wife of Marlin B. Reedy, Newmanstown, PA and Kay E., wife of Dr. Willis C. Manges, DDS, Danville, PA; five step-grandchildren: Virginia Roberts, Thomas Rife, Shannon Rife, Theresa Turner and Kayin Haithcock. Four nieces and 2 nephews also survive.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Sue's Life Celebration Memorial Service from the Funeral Home of Fred F. Groff, Inc., 234 W. Orange St., Lancaster, PA on Wednesday, September 14th, at 10:00AM, with the Rev. Frances H. Carr, officiating.
Interment at Conestoga Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Wednesday from 9:00AM until time of service.
