Samuel Moody died in 1829 in Washington County, Pennsylvania. Lydia Moody and Stuart McClave were married in 1802 in Washington County, Pennsylvania; the supposition being drawn that this was her family's home and her place of birth. Lydia returned home to Pigeon Creek [source: Lucile Arlene Wells Branscum Howe] for a visit in 1828 and contracted a fever and died. Her body was returned to her home in Jefferson County, Ohio, where her husband eventually died and was buried beside her.
