Jennie P. Leslie Baird was born April 10, 1853 , at Bernanda, Pa. On Jan. 25, 1875 she married Byron W. Baird Jan. 25, 1875. They came to Kansas in 1878. She had struggled with her health for several years, with her death the result of a combination of Brights disease and heart trouble. In January 1911 she and her husband and one daughter took up their residence at Manhattan, leaving the farm in charge of their son Charles.
