John J. O'Shonessy, 76 years old, died Thursday in the home of a sister, Mrs. Thomas Burns, 3011 Dodge avenue, following a long sickness. Born in Iowa City, Ia., November 27, 1855, Mr. O'Shonessy lived there for a few years and then, with his parents, moved to De Witt, Ia., and Vail, Ia., and later to Miller, S. D. He came to Sioux City in 1887. Survivors include three brothers, Mike, Charles and Thomas, all of Sioux City. Funeral services will be held at 9 o'clock Saturday in the Immaculate Conception Catholic church with Rev. J. J. Murphy officiating. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery under the direction of Larkin's funeral home.
