Harold E. Whitaker, age 79, of Wood Avenue, Jackson died Wednesday at Jenkins Memorial Nursing Home.
He was a retired carman and welder for the DT&I Railroad and a WWII veteran.
Born in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Robert and Nellie Yerian Whitaker. He was also preceded in death by a brother.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Ruth Whitaker; and four brothers, David of Chillicothe, Robert of Montpelier, Darwin of Jackson and Walter of McArthur.
Friends may call at the Eisnaugle-Lewis Funeral Home from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday with Rev. James Kuhn and Rev. Walter Whitaker officiating. Burial will be made in Evergreen Cemetery.
